Welcome to our monthly roundup of all things Qredo!
In response to community requests and to provide more regular information about how the Qredo project is evolving, here is our monthly recap of Qredo Network activity and highlights.
Permissionless was the team's first major event since Covid and was a huge success for Qredo.
We were blown away by the level of traffic to the booth and the recognition that Qredo has won over recent months.
Read CEO Anthony Foy’s Permissionless Highlights:
“After Permissionless, I am more confident than ever about the ability of this still emerging industry to weather the chill of any Crypto Winter. Indeed, for projects like Qredo that have healthy war chests and long-term vision, it is an opportunity to grow and thrive." - Anthony Foy, CEO Qredo
New Travel Rule Working Group
We were delighted to announce the launch of Qredo’s new Travel Rule working Group.
The FATF Travel Rule is going to be a big deal for digital asset service providers such as exchanges and crypto trading desks because it compels them to provide identifying information for those involved in crypto transactions.
Qredo is out of the blocks with its own unique solution, Qredo Compliance™, which binds metadata to each transaction making Travel Rule compliance much easier and more efficient.
Seven of the biggest names in blockchain analytics are part of the working group and are opening their APIs to the new solution 💪
QRDO Staking Opt-Out
Some of you have requested the ability to opt-out of the Qredo staking program for tax reasons — (for example, in Germany, staking rewards constitutes a tax event).
Archive unused crypto wallets
This new functionality gives you extra functionality over how to manage your Qredo account.
When you archive a wallet, you won’t lose any deposits made into it, and you can easily unarchive the wallet at any time, at your convenience.
There are two reasons why you may want to archive a crypto wallet:
You don’t want to see unused wallets on your Qredo dashboard
Any archived wallet containing QRDO will pay no fees!
We were delighted to announce that Qredo has integrated with Caduceus to provide metaverse-ready crypto wallet infrastructure.
Caduceus will use Qredo for treasury management; including storing funds from investors, making instant crosschain swaps, and managing assets on their own EVM-compatible blockchain.
Qredo approved as official Bitcoin Service Provider in El Salvador
In early May, the Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (BCR) approved Qredo as a registered bitcoin services provider.
Qredo has already been very active in El Salvador, and sponsored the first ever Bitcoin Bankathon in November 2021.
This new approval means Qredo has become the only decentralized custody provider operating in El Salvador, opening the door to future involvement in this country’s exciting bitcoin journey.
Building our Latin American team
Supporting the momentum in El Salvador, we were thrilled to announce in May that Luis Novella had joined Qredo as the Regional Director for Latin America.
Luis is one of a number of key Qredo hires in Latin America, a region we believe has the potential to be a global crypto hub.
Going to the Blockchain Summit LatAm 2022 in Panama (July 7-9th)? Luis will be attending and speaking on one of the panels. Don't forget to say hi 👋
In May, we held the first in a new series of Qredo Panels.
Embracing Regulation: How the UK and US are warming up to crypto was an insightful discussion around the biggest developments in crypto regulation across the two nations.
It’s a must-watch for anyone interested in the governmental factors that will influence crypto evolution. Panelists were Katie Fry-Paul from law firm Taylor Wessing, Ari Redbord from compliance analytics firm TRM Labs, and Qredo’s very own Ben Whitby.
